Dennis Rodman North Korea CNN Interview-Sports Talk With Anthony Bonelli

This morning Hall of Famer Dennis Rodman was interviewed on CNN.. The purpose of the interview was to promote a basketball game Rodman and nine other former players were playing in to help celebrate the birthday of North Korea’s leader. During the interview Rodman was asked why he was there during such a hostile time.

Let me just say this Rodman and the nine other participants are grown men, and yes it may not be the most popular decision, but I believe the players should be able to do what they want. We consider America a free country, the First Amendment says we have freedom of speech, freedom of ASSEMBLY and freedom of religion. If we have freedom of assembly why is Rodman being singled out, because he is a former basketball player? If another American wanted to go to North Korea for the same reason would it be all over the news?

Two years ago I spent the whole weekend with Rodman when he was inducted to the Hall of Fame, is he different, yes but I can tell you he is a great guy. Every opportunity he got he would go out of his way to say hello to me. I wonder do people forget, right after Rodman was inducted into the Hall of Fame, he set up a meeting with his father who stranded him at birth? For a man to put all the hard feelings aside, and talk to the man that left him and his brothers and sisters, takes a certain kind of man.
